Duplicate notifications, Alias & screenname

Haven't been able to pinpoint why only some screennames do this (in fact, there are cases where single screennames under the same alias will act this way, but others wont), but its becoming an annoying problem as it can flood my screen with notifications pretty quickly. Basically whatever I have set comes up twice, once for the persons alias and a second time for their screenname.

Example: Alice has logged on. AlicesScreenname? has logged on. Same person(yes screenname is properly merged to the Alias), same action, both showing up at the same time.

And like I said earlier, it's fickle. While on AlicesScreenname? I'll get duplicate messages.. but if this same person logs on to AlicesScreename?#2, i'll only get the one message for the Alice alias. Any ideas?

I think I have targeted the source of this problem. This seems to happen if you have the same buddy on more than one group. I think that also is related to have merged a buddy (from different protocols), and this buddy has more than one group in one or more protocols. Hope this helps you.
